AWESOME!!

That's what my hubby is!! He took the boys out to get some sort of cable at target and after he put the boys to sleep and everything, he told me he had a surprise for me ( I was kinda bummed out about something silly at that moment) he thought that it would be the appropriate time to give me (drumroll please) the latest Dan Brown book!!! I love him, I mean my hubby, so thoughtful!! He got me hooked on Dan Brown and Jeffrey Archer so of course every time he goes to the library he brings me back one of their books. The latest one was from Archer called "The Lost Path" is about climbing Mount Everest, I liked it, although my question for this climber guy would have been, why?? Anyway different story.
I can't wait to start reading this one don't worry I wont' spoil it but, please don't call or come over for the next couple of days I won't be here, well sort of...:)
BTW not a big fan of "The Da VInci Code" but I did love "Angel & Demons" (I know lovely title), which was really the prequel to the code and a lot more interesting. And please don't bombard me with Meyers lit. Still don't like it. (sorry Katie) Signing off. Happy reading everybody!

He's got "street cred"

I'd say that after a few weeks of school, Tyler's social life is going pretty well. He's already been asked to get married to a cute little girl, uh hello?? He thought it was silly and he just said that was JUST his friend.:) We're not one of those parents who like to talk or tease about having girlfriends or some platonic relationship, I think that kids don't fully understand, they will, but not yet.
Anyway, it's always been important to us, Preston and I, that our children have a decent social life, because we didn't have much of one when we were growing up and it just didn't change much until the last few years. Let's face it who wants to be friends with geeky people, oh yeah me,I don't care who my friends are as long as they're nice decent people, except that I did when I was younger and to a certain extent I do feel that my social life was well...lacking. And that my life would have been enriched by good friendships, not only that but I would have learned a thing or two about relationships. So...now I can teach y children about friendships, about being popular for good reasons, about not bullying and just being there for somebody else and having good, clean fun. By the way, I LOVE my friends!

It's not fair :(

Preston and I have told the boys that "fair" is a four letter word, although they still don't know exactly what we mean, thank goodness. But in this case I'M saying it, "It's NOT fair!" that my babies are growing up so quickly, have any of you seen my boys lately, they're sooo big and Tyler's started Kindergarten, which he loves, and he's also lost 2 baby teeth; it doesn't help that he can read so well too. He loves to remind me that he's not my baby by way of showing me his new teeth; he says " sorry mom, i'm not your baby anymore" in a sinsong voice and all I can say is "TOUGH you will always be my baby" to which point he just ignores my comment and goes on with his life, boohoo!! My baby!
Anyway he's loving Kindergarten and we couldn't be happier with his teacher. The good thing though is that Thomas loves staying at home with me, yay!! And I love it, he still loves cuddling and playing with his "lovies" in his crib, yeah he's still in a crib he wont' let go of it and I don't mind it. He wakes up in the morning and yells for me to come get him and as I enter his room, he usually gives me a big smile and follows it with a "can I have hot lala (milk) in a dippy cup?" Anyway what can I say I'm a sucker for cute little boys, which is why is NOT fair that they grow up, my babies...

Lost tooth!! call the tooth fairy! She brought him 2 golden dollars, oooh.
First day of school, he was still waking up, thus the lack of smile.

Who da (little) man?

We received some good news in the mail yesterday. Tyler was accepted to a gifted and talented program for the coming school year. He was also accepted to a dual language program so he will be doing both, poor kid. And this is only Kindergarten, no worries we will monitor closely.
We had to celebrate and we went out to get him Bakugan (think 2000's version of Pokemon), he's been asking for them since last year, we just needed a good reason to get them and he's happy. We also bought some books for him and his brother, there's no slacking now, right?
All in all we had an awesome day yesterday, we even fit in a visit to the zoo and check out the newest addition, Toby, a red panda from the Lincoln zoo.
We definitely had an eventful Saturday.

For he's a wonderful fellow,

For he's wonderful fellow, for he's a wonderful fellow which nobody can deny!
Happy Birthday Preston!!!! Today is Preston Birthday and we're celebrating at home with Stroganoff (his mom's recipe). Very low key...
We are also going to a Rockets game but that's not until April, it's become a nice tradition for his birthday. It's always fun to go watch a Rockets game, especially when they're good, but I digress.
Honey I hope you have a wonderful birthday, we love you!! Happy 32!! (he's so young)

Disney World: Here we go again!

So last year Preston had to go to Florida for work conference and we tagged along. We had a wonderful time and guess what?! This year we're doing it again!! My parents invited the entire family to come along so it was not a hard decision. Our plans are to make it there by the end of May and stay a week. We'll keep you guys posted.
We made wonderful memories and are looking forward to making more this summer.
The boys don't know yet b/c there's still plenty of time left and I don't wanna hear "when are we going mom?" for the next 4 months.
Have a happy week!
